Hundreds of people have entered a special competition launched by MAN Truck & Bus UK as part of the 100 Year Anniversary celebrations of the company.
A limited edition hard back book, which follows the story of commercial vehicle production throughout its 100-year history, was offered as the prize.
The competition, which ran for around two weeks, was launched on Twitter attracting plenty of retweets and more than 300 new followers keen to win this keepsake, which is full of black and white and full colour images charting the company’s past 100 years.
Martin Pickering, Marketing Communications Manager, said: “We have built a really loyal following on social media for the MAN brand and our @mantruckbusuk Twitter feed and Facebook pages regularly attract great comments from enthusiasts worldwide.
“We were delighted with the response to this competition, as we believe it is a great prize to mark an important part of MAN’s anniversary celebrations.”
The book, MAN – One Century written by Henning Stibbe and Matthias Georgi, celebrates 100 years of commercial vehicle production. The group itself though spans more than 250 years of heritage.
On June 21st, 1915, the company was entered into the commercial register in the city of Nuremberg under the name ‘Lastwagenwerke M.A.N. -Saurer.
Soon after this, the first M.A.N.-Saurer three-tonne truck left the factory on Lake Constance, followed shortly afterward by the first buses.
